Eco-Lakes International is a dynamic, environmentally-driven company based in Uganda. We are committed to transforming rural landscapes through the creation of artificial lakes that promote sustainable water solutions for agriculture, livestock, eco-tourism, aquaculture, forestry, and environmental conservation.
Eco-Lakes International was founded to address the persistent water scarcity faced by rural communities and livestock keepers across Uganda’s cattle corridor. With climate change and unreliable rainfall threatening livelihoods, our goal is to provide long-term, nature-based water solutions that support rural development and climate resilience.
Vision: To partner with government and other agencies in building a water-secure and environmentally sustainable future for Uganda, Africa, and beyond.
Mission: To support national development by creating sustainable artificial lakes that enhance food security, climate resilience, and socio-economic empowerment in rural areas.
We provide a comprehensive range of environmental engineering and development services, including:
Artificial lake design and construction
Water resource management and irrigation systems
Eco-tourism and recreational infrastructure development
Aquaculture and cage fish farming
Livestock watering solutions
Event and hospitality venue development on lake fronts
Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
Reforestation and wetland restoration
Community engagement and capacity building
Our projects primarily serve:
Rural farming communities
Livestock keepers and farmers
Tourism operators and investors
Local governments and environmental agencies
Youth and women’s groups
NGOs and development partners
Our operations currently focus on Uganda, particularly semi-arid districts within the cattle corridor. However, our model is scalable and can be replicated in other parts of East Africa and similar regions across the African continent.
Artificial lakes provide reliable water for irrigation, livestock, and aquaculture, helping communities sustain farming year-round. They also create opportunities for eco-tourism, recreation, and job creation, while improving climate resilience and biodiversity through reforestation and ecosystem restoration.
Sustainability is one of our core values. We design lakes using eco-friendly engineering methods, conduct Environmental Impact Assessments, and integrate reforestation and wetland restoration into every project to maintain ecological balance and long-term viability.
