Mubende Resort Beach
Mubende Resort Beach – Mubende–Fort Portal Highway
The Mubende Resort Beach Project is one of Eco-Lakes International’s flagship developments, strategically located along the Mubende–Fort Portal highway. This artificial lake was designed to serve as both a recreational destination and a model of eco-friendly water management in a semi-arid region.
Objectives
Create a scenic waterfront for leisure and tourism.
Support local hospitality ventures such as restaurants, gardens, and event spaces.
Enhance climate resilience by introducing a sustainable water body in a dry corridor.
Key Features
Artificial lake constructed with a compact clay base and natural inflow channels.
Landscaped lakefront with shaded trees, walkways, and picnic lawns.
Provision for boat rides, events, and eco-tourism activities.
Integrated stormwater harvesting system to replenish the lake during dry seasons.
Impact
Mubende Resort Beach has become a popular weekend escape and a source of local employment. The project promotes eco-tourism and recreation while serving as a demonstration site for sustainable lake construction in Uganda’s cattle corridor.
